We are responsible for a range of activity in relation to traffic management and road safety such as:

Traffic management

We have a programme of local safety and control schemes which help to maintain good traffic management in Sunderland. We also deal with service requests such as yellow lines and crossings, as well as removing hazards.

Parking services

We manage, maintain and improve public car parking.

Road safety education

We are dedicated to educating school-children on road safety and run a programme within the schools where training is provided by qualified instructors. Find out further information on cycling and walking to school.

Safer routes to school

We are responsible for school crossing patrol and encouraging safer routes to school giving alternatives to journeys by car.
