The Mayor will attend the official opening of Sunderland Culture-Bright Lights Youth Art Exhibition, which is taking place at the Arts Centre Washington, Biddick Lane, Fatfield, Washington at 6pm. The Mayor will view the exhibition which showcases some of the most exciting artwork by young people across the city. The Mayor will also engage with the young people and their families about their artwork.

The Mayor and Consort will support the Mayor of Gateshead at her 'At Home' Event which will be held in the Mayor's Parlour, Gateshead Civic Centre, Gateshead at 2pm. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mayor of Gateshead's chosen charity NE Youth.

Friday 28 February 2025
The Mayor and Consort will attend the unveiling of the Sir William Herschel Heritage Blue Plaque which will be taking place at Sunniside Car Park, William Street, Sunderland SR1 1UL at 9.55am. The Mayor will deliver a short speech before unveiling the plaque.

The Mayor and Consort will host the Mayor's Civic Charity Ball at the Roker Hotel, Roker, Sunderland at 7pm. All proceeds will be donated to the Mayors charities and good causes for 2024-2025 which are the Royalty Theatre Sunderland, Castletown Scouts Group and Hylton Castle Trust. The Deputy Mayor will also be in attendance.
