Get Involved
Digital inclusion means that all Sunderland residents have access to free or low cost quality broadband, the right devices that meet their needs, and the confidence and skills to explore and engage safely in the digital world. While we acknowledge that digital inclusion is a choice, we will strive to provide the information and support required for any resident to make it. We recognise the role of digital exclusion as a barrier to equality and progress in Sunderland and commit to addressing it in any way that we can.
If you are interested to get involved there are several ways to do it. You can choose as many as you like.
1. use easy to understand language when showing people how to go online, we want to get people to feel better about the experience.
2. Digital Hub show your 'offline' family members or friends the benefits of going online, and if they are interested in learning more sign post them into digital hub.
3. volunteer at a local digital hub, or set up a digital hub in your own building for work colleagues or the public to access.
4. join the Digital Inclusion Network, and form partnerships with other likeminded organisations to share ideas and run digitally based activities.
5. support digital inclusion activities in Sunderland by donating staff time, unwanted digital devices or other resources, such as, sponsoring a child with tech to give back to the community.
