Food Safety and Hygiene 

This practical hands-on course helps you to grow in confidence, learn new skills and improve working within a team, all whilst gaining a qualification - AIMVOC Level 1 Award in Skills for Working in Catering & Hospitality Industries (6031638X) 

Over 8 sessions (2 days per week) you will develop your food planning, preparation and cooking skills - by focusing on the following:  

  • Working safely and hygienically  

  • Use kitchen equipment and tools effectively and safely 

  • Cooking to eat healthily 

  • Reducing food waste 

  • Cooking on a budget 

  • Understanding and meeting dietary requirements 

  • Confidence building 

  • Resilience 

  • Strengths and weaknesses 

  • Mental and emotional wellbeing.
