I am still working but feel passionate about volunteering so I only work four days so I can have one day for volunteering. I have signed up to We'ar shining the light as I feel its important for local people to have their voices heard.

I am also involved and volunteer for a local 'friends' of my local park as our parks are our greatest assets in bringing communities together.

I was born in Manchester and moved to Sunderland to support my sister with childcare as she had already moved here, I then met my husband and stayed. I have been in Sunderland for over 30 years and see myself as a Mancunian- Mackem.

I love everything about Sunderland it's a Northeast gem, its coast the people everything is wonderful.
