Delivering Positive Outcomes for Learners Across Sunderland
The Learning and Skills Service continued to deliver outstanding results during 2024/25, supporting 1,009 learners across 1,966 learning episodes and 65 different courses. Many learners chose to complete more than one course, developing new skills, increasing their confidence, and improving their employment prospects.
Outstanding Achievement Rates
The Adult Skills Fund provision achieved an exceptional overall achievement rate of 97.91%.

These results reflect the commitment of learners, tutors, and delivery partners in providing high-quality learning experiences and successful outcomes.
Progression Into Positive Destinations
Learning is about more than qualifications—it is about creating opportunities. Of learners who were identified as Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) when they started learning with us, 75% progressed into a positive destination, including:
- Further learning, apprenticeships, traineeships, and higher education.
- Full-time and part-time employment opportunities.
- Volunteering roles with local organisations.

Learner Satisfaction
Feedback from learners demonstrates the positive impact our courses continue to have:
- 99% of learners were happy with their course.
- 95% felt more confident to apply for a job, volunteer, or continue into further training.
- 99% received useful feedback and support during their learning.
