Safeguarding training for existing hackney carriage and private hire drivers
On 2 March 2020, the former Regulatory Committee considered a report on safeguarding training for hackney carriage and private hire drivers. The committee decided that all existing licensed drivers, who have not yet attended safeguarding training, be required to do so.
The online safeguarding training module is £11, payment of the fee can be made by phoning 0191 5205550 or by going to the home page of sunderland.gov.uk - £pay - view all - taxi licensing - safeguarding for existing drivers.
The training will take about 1 hour 30 minutes and does not have to be completed in one session. It can be carried out on a laptop, tablet or smart phone at a time and location that is convenient to you.
Once you have registered, you will receive an email within 5 working days with the information and web link you need to complete the module.
All drivers must complete the prescribed training, no other training course will be accepted as an alternative.
Once the training has been completed, save/upload the certificate for your renewal.
