Professional Postage Services
The Business Support Service currently use an Industry leading franking machine which enables access to Royal Mails Business Mail Advance (BMA) which in turn provides discounted postage rates. BMA rates for 2nd class mail currently sit at 5p cheaper than the standard franking rate and 20p cheaper than a traditional stamp, which ensures a financial saving.
Business Support also regularly manage large scale mail merge distributions on behalf of our internal and external customers. The full function can be managed upon receipt of a spreadsheet containing addressee details and a standard letter template.
As part of the council's ongoing improvement around its postage arrangements, we have secured and will be implementing a Hybrid Mail software solution. Hybrid mail will provide all computer-based users with the ability to send mail items without moving away from their computer.
When users usually go to press print, they will be presented with an option to print/send. When selected, the system will electronically transfer the documents to an independent management company who will take care of the printing, enveloping, franking and distribution.
All this is carried out with an average cost saving of 26p per letter (Prices may vary dependent on circumstances).
