History of the Mayoral Office

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor are elected by the Council annually and are inaugurated in to the Office of the Mayor during Annual Council and Mayor Making Ceremony, which is held in May of every year.  The Mayor's main role and responsibilities can be viewed in the council constitution.

The Mayor also promotes chosen charities of his or hers choice and holds fundraising events throughout the term in office to raise money which is shared amongst the named charities.
