Under 25 and leaving care

Corporate parenting is a statutory function of Sunderland City Council. To help young care leavers with the challenges of living independently we will reduce their council tax.

As a corporate parent we will support each young person leaving care who moves into independent accommodation with a 100% reduction on their council tax bill. If you think you are entitled to care leaver discount please complete the Care Leaver Discount form.
