Proposed Sheepfolds Regeneration
The Sheepfolds area in Sunderland is undergoing significant regeneration as part of the wider Riverside Sunderland Master Plan.
Sheepfolds has a rich industrial past which is now being reimagined to create a unique new community featuring up to 600 homes. This mixed-use scheme, located on the north of the river next to the Stadium of Light, will include modern townhouses, apartments, maisonettes and family homes, and will offer a variety of mixed-use community facilities such as commercial spaces, a mobility hub and associated infrastructure works for all residents to enjoy.
The council is preparing a hybrid planning application for the development proposal, and is holding a public engagement drop in event at Sunderland Aquatic Centre on Thursday 27 March 2025 from 3pm - 7pm. This is to provide an opportunity to share your views and provide us with feedback on the outline proposals.
