Obtain a DVLA check code

In order that the Council can assess the driving status of an applicant and to decide whether you are fit to drive a hackney carriage or private hire vehicle, we need to check your current driving licence entitlement. You are therefore required to obtain and provide a DVLA check code.

In order to obtain a DVLA check code, you will need

• Your DVLA driving licence number
• Postcode
• National Insurance Number

Please note the check is only valid for 21 days.

Once complete you will need to upload the check code with your application.
