Procedures
Sunderland Multi-agency Safeguarding Procedures should guide and inform the practice of all individuals within all organisations working in partnership to safeguard adults at risk in Sunderland. The procedures should be applied in all situations where an adult has met the definition of an adult at risk:
- A person who is 18 years old or over, and has needs for care and support (whether or not the local authority is meeting any of those needs)
- Is experiencing, or at risk of, abuse and neglect
- As a result of those care and support needs is unable to protect themselves from either the risk of, or the experience of abuse or neglect
