An important message from the Mayor of Sunderland
A message from the Mayor of Sunderland, Councillor Allison Chisnall
Recent events are not representative of the majority of people in this city.
What is representative are the community clean-ups, the prayer walk, and community spirited actions that show real warmth in the hearts of residents.
Community leaders are continuing to meet, support and work together to make Sunderland a great place to live, work, learn and play, and a city that people are proud to belong to.
Hate, violence, intimidation and the spreading of fear are not welcome here.
We cannot and will not let a minority stop us being better, stronger and closer together.
I look forward to continuing my work and support for all our communities.
