Accessing priority supermarket deliveries

If you are clinically extremely vulnerable you should register your needs through the government's online service at www.gov.uk/coronavirus-shielding-support

You'll be asked a range of personal details, then questions about your individual support needs.

Priority supermarket deliveries are available if you do not have anyone you can rely on to go shopping for you. Once details have been validated and confirmed as eligible for the service, details of those individuals who requested a slot are passed to the supermarkets who match this against their customer database.

This means it's really important that you set up an account with the supermarket as soon as possible, with the same email address or contact details that you have used to register with the government's online service.

The supermarkets currently participating are:

  • Iceland
  • Morrisons
  • Ocado
  • Sainsbury's
  • Tesco
  • Waitrose

Matching should happen within one week of you registering with the online service, and supermarkets should get in touch to let you know you have access to priority slots.

If you registered on the previous shielding system and accessed a delivery slot you will retain you priority access.
