• Fight for Sight are seeking applications from projects that support and empower children and young people with the tools to live independent and fulfilling lives.  With one of the key priorities being digital inclusion. Grants up to £30,000.  Deadline 14 October 2024.
• IT4 Good grants are available for not-for-profit organisations across Sunderland to deliver IT projects and activities that support the themes of education, inclusion, IT for charities and understanding of IT.  Grants up to £15,000.  Deadline 31 October 2024.
• Reeds Grassroots grant are available to improve mental health and life chances, especially for children and for disadvantaged communities.   Grants between £1,000 to £3,000.  No deadline date.
• Curtin PARP Fund the scheme recognises carers of all ages, black and minority ethnic groups including those with asylum seeker/refugee status, disabled people, homeless people and people who are experiencing disadvantages.  Grants up to £7,000.  No deadline date.
• Platten Family Fund funding for STEM activities.  Grants to support education and training projects, particularly in engineering.  Grants up to £10,000.  No deadline date.
• Rothley Trust grants are available for voluntary and community organisations undertaking general charitable activities.  Grants up to £1,000.  No deadline date.
• Sir Tom Cowie Charitable Trust grants available for projects and schemes which help disadvantaged and disabled young people to improve skills and explore their talents as well as to improve the quality of life for people living in less affluent communities.  Grant amounts are discretionary, no deadline date.
• Grant Funding Finder tool the free charity Funding Finder grant directory enables you to search for funders for UK Charities and community groups.  Updated every week, you'll find the lastest news. 
• The Ballinger Charitable Trust grants average at £15,000 which support health, development and wellbeing of children and young people, and older people, particularly those with dementia.  Applications can be made at anytime, via the Trust's website. 
• Birkdale Trust grants to advance the education and welfare of children and young people in the UK who have a hearing impairment.  No deadline date stated. Grants between £300 to £2,500.
• Catherine Cookson Charitable Trust grants up to £150,000. Interested applications may apply at any time.  Trustees meet several times a year.  No application form.  The first step is to complete a short online form access on their website.  Once groups have filled in this form, they will be able to access the guidelines and restrictions.
• Cost of Living Resilience Fund is a match funding initiative that provides grants up to £50,000, conditional upon applicants first securing crowdfunding via Crowdfunder's platform.  Fund will close when all funding is allocated. 
• The Access Group grants are available to registered charities, CICs, educational establishments and CIOs for projects that mitigate the digital divide by making computing facilities, support and/or learning available to disadvantaged and vulnerable people.  No deadline date stated.  Grants up to £100,000.
• Skipton Charitable Foundation funding provided for UK registered charities whose purpose benefits children, adults and older people.  Grants up to £6,000.  Trustees meet at the beginning of March, June, September and December.  Deadline dates are the 1st of the month prior to each meeting. 
• W.A. Handley Charity Trust provide grants commonly in response to appeals in support of welfare for those who are disadvantaged.  Most grants are for £5,000 or less. Registered charities can apply.  Applications are made at any time, made in writing quoting the charity number and provoding full back up information.  Contact davidmilligan@ryecroft-glenton.co.uk or 0191 281 1292 for further information.
• Local Councillors Fund ward councillors in Sunderland have a grant allocation to award to community groups and organisations, to deliver activities or purchase equipment that provides a clear benefit to residents at a ward level.  Applications accepted on a rolling basis throughtout the year.   Average grant £800-£1000.
